The Guesthouse

The Guest House at Cape Otway Homestead is a perfect spot for a weekend getaway. The suite features a king-sized bed, foldable queen bed, kitchenette, oversized bath and a wood-burning fireplace. Enjoy the views from your own private terrace with an outlook over the Cape Otway National Park. Wake up to koalas, wallabies and birdlife right outside your door. (please note the cottage is for 2 adults, 2 children and will be too small to accomodate 4 adults).

The guest house is connected to the main homestead so larger bookings can be accommodated by opening up the rest of the home. The homestead and guesthouse may be occupied in some cases, but each has its own parking, entrance, and terrace.

The guest-house homestead is remote, but that's what makes it great. Wind through eucalypts and farmsteads to journey through an unpaved track for only those with an adventurous spirit. (The track is maintained yearly, but those light-hearted should seek alternative accommodation.).

Once you get here, it's absolute magic; the view alone is worth the journey.

GUEST HOUSE DETAILS
The Guest House at Cape Otway Homestead is surrounded by the Cape Otway National Park. Discover wallabies, koalas and birdlife right outside the door or journey though the homestead grounds to explore gorgeous native vegetation. Take a journey to the inlet, a 5 minute drive down to the Aire River Campsite, especially magically if you take the Great Ocean Walk path down the main beach. Once there enjoy a swim, kayak, sandboarding, or relax on your own private beach. You'll be amazed how picturesque and secluded it is - a perfectly kept secret.

Apollo Bay is a 25-minute drive for the local shops, grocery stores, cafes/pubs and a local farmers market every Saturday. Make sure to stop into Mait's Rest on you're way there. It's a kid-friendly hike through 200-year-old Redwoods about a 10 minutes drive from the homestead.

There are local farmers around who would be happy to host you for a farm experience to pet/feed lambs and chickens, pick some fresh veggies or buy some local free-range eggs and fresh meats. (Arrange with me on booking).
